Promoting a Village Voice/Asahi Beer tasting event on a cruise around New York through social media presented challenges. The video would be posted to Instagram and Facebook and need to be brief. Working from an illustration for the event that was created by designer Andy Carey a concept was developed to tell the story of a small jazz combo playing on the ship. Music was composed to relate to the event and the whole thing pulled together to give a sophisticated and slightly retro feel.
